Swing and Pain

Martha and Lisa decided to go on the front porch and sit in the swing. This is a late afternoon ritual. This time of the day most people are out walking,so it is a good time to meet and greet our neighbors. They were sitting on the swing just a swinging,when There was this loud pop and the swing chain came loose. The swing with Lisa and her mom Martha fell to the floor. The only problem was Martha’s legs were under the swing. Lisa jumped in the nick of time to save herself. Poor mom was caught. Then the noise began. Martha hollering and Lisa running and laughing. I jumped up and ran over to Martha and pulled the swing off her. She could barely walk and both legs were beginning to bruise. I called for Lisa but she ran around the house. She did not know her mother was hurt. I helped Martha in and preceded to put ice on her poor legs. She was lucky they were not broken. After that I installed a backup safety chain so this would not ever happen again.

The next day she had a terrible bruise on both legs. We went grocery shopping and Martha wore shorts. I did not think much about it until I overheard two ladies discussing her bruises. They were giving me the eye.
