ISLAM IN AMERICA - Part 3

     The charge of intolerance against Americans about their reaction to The Cordoba Mosque simply does not hold water. It is a distortion to call Americans Islamaphobic because they oppose the mosque at ground zero or even if they would oppose them everywhere. Such shallow and immediate attempts to intimidate with such charges are so overused that thinking Americans are losing their respect for those who make them, as it should.

     As has been said about the charge of racism, “Racism is what a liberal calls a conservative when they start losing the argument.” This is not always true because there is still too much racism, but the charge is so overused, and so often used just to intimidate or deflect from the real issue, that it too has lost much of its power even when it is true. Those who now use the charge of racism frivolously lose the respect of just about everyone and are usually considered the real racist. The same is true of Islamophobia and those who now overuse this charge are seen as the ones who are really the cowards intimidated by and controlled by Islamists.

     This is no exaggeration—there is that much of a reaction to the meltdown of integrity in the media. With the media blitz to seek to intimidate America with these charges about the Cordoba Mosque the opposition to this mosque has strengthened, even dipping into the seemingly unchangeable 30% on the liberal left, with one poll showing opposition now at 72% of the population of America.

     What could the agenda be of the people who are so defensive about building this mosque at Ground Zero when they are not even Muslims? Michael Bloomberg is Jewish, who should know as much as anyone what Cordoba stands for. Is this really about protecting the constitutional right of religious liberty as they claim? If so, why did the city turn down the application of a church that is in a nearby location to display a nine foot cross, and quickly approve of the mosque putting up a twenty-seven foot crescent?

     Why are so many of our leaders so intimidated by and controlled by Islamists? Why are they not allowing churches that were already in this area on 9/11 to rebuild, but they’re allowing a mosque? Any thinking person is going to see that something has gone dangerously awry.

     Now about the charge of Islamophobia—a phobia is an irrational fear. There are rational fears which are not phobias, and this controversy has caused many to study Islam, and the more they have studied the more alarmed they have rightly become. Those who are studying it are shocked when they read from The Koran such verses as:

Sura 2:191: Sura 8:12: Sura 9:123: Sura 9:5:

“Kill the disbelievers (non-Muslims) wherever you find them.” “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve (Islam). Therefore, strike off their heads.” “Murder them (non-Muslims) and treat them harshly.” “Fight and slay the pagans, seize them, harass them, and lie in wait for them with every trick.”

     Like many of the English translations of The Bible, most English translations of The Koran are severely changed and watered down from their original Arabic language. The above is a more literal translation from a former PLO terrorist, Kamal Saleem. A Jordanian Palestinian also confirmed that there may not be a Western translation of The Koran that is accurate. This is why many devout Muslims charge that one cannot really understand Islam without reading The Koran in the original language, which is very true, and it is far more harsh and graphic in the original.

     As we showed in the study of ‘Christianity in America’ in a previous Oak Leaf, Christians in America tend to be very shallow about even the most basic tenets of their faith, so we can understand if the same is true of most Muslims in America about some of the basic tenets of their faith. It is not accurate or right to judge others by their most extreme elements, and to date most Muslims in America, and indeed worldwide, declare that they are anywhere from opposed to terrorist and violence in promoting their faith, to being appalled by it. However, what we must ask is ‘what is the evidence of their sincerity?’

     It is not only the right, but the responsibility of our government to know very well the nature of all who threaten America. Our government should have top experts seeking to understand Islam and just how many Muslims in America are radicalized or seek the imposition of Sharia Law in America. To neglect the pursuit of such knowledge would be the most basic incompetence at best. What would you think if you found out that the governments most trusted “experts” on these profoundly important issues were members of The Muslim Brotherhood? That is a present fact, which has been well established by other true experts, who were top analysts commissioned by our Department of Defense and other agencies, devoted to studying Islam but were forced out by members of the

     Muslim Brotherhood who have gained top positions in these crucial areas of our government – areas which should be devoted to our defense.

     Even in the watered down versions it is clear that this religion promotes the destruction or enslavement of all who do not adhere to it, so how is it that our media and our government do not stand up against it? Obviously our media has been compromised for a long time, but the most basic responsibility of our government is our domestic defense and protection. The vow of every government official, law enforcement or military officer, is to defend our Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic. Now, what would you think if there were policies established by our own government preventing or hindering even the investigation of Muslims by federal law enforcement, even those whose proclaimed purpose is the destruction of America and western civilization? Such would obviously be the highest form of incompetence. However, if there is knowledge of the truth with the attempt to cover it up or just the failure to act on it would be treason.

     Encouragingly, though our government and our media may be asleep or worse, the American people are waking up. What we are covering in these Oak Leaves is now found in a host of books written by true authorities on the subject and those books are being very widely distributed and read. Americans are neither as ignorant nor as stupid as many of our leaders and the media have assumed. The faster we wake up the less the price will be for the slumber or incompetence of our government.       We Thank You Mr. Joyner.
